Branding, as any expert on the subject will tell you, is nothing much to do with big M’s outside fast-food emporiums, nor tick marks on your over-priced gym shoes.
Branding you and your business is much more than a logo, an image, marketing or *making a name for yourself*: it’s about being seen as the ONLY solution to your prospective client’s problem.
The man who turns customers into Evangelists for big brands is Rob Frankel, author of The Revenge of Brand X: How to Build a Big Time brand on the Web or Anywhere Else. Rob Frankel is the guru of branding, and he doesn’t mean cattle!
Fortunately for you, he runs the iBranding forum via Adventive and his own FrankelBiz list, plus Frankel’s Free Clinic: Monday mornings FREE consultations by chat!

Choosing a name that reflects your business and *branding* that indelibly onto the brains of visitors is just the start of the issue.
You’ll have read much advice about choosing a domain name that results in a better ranking on the search engines and is easier to remember. If your Business is Widget Sales, then widgets-R-us.com will work better than jdoe.com
Common sense?
Well, I have a lot of long-time subscribers and repeat visitors at tucats-design.com and it ain’t about cats and I’ve never had time to take on design projects! :-))
I think the big difference is in human stuff and NOT the automation. Even to the extent that the name TuCats, which was actually chosen on a whim, has opened many a conversation over the last three + years and allowed me to get my foot into a lot of doors. People remember it though, mostly because they think of Pamela Heywood as the ‘net business equivalent to the Shell Answer Man!
Where people are going wrong mostly, is because they don’t clearly define their USP ( Unique Selling Proposition ) and communicate this effectively to their audience.
By participating in forums such as this, by injecting personality into your own ezines and newsletters and generally making yourself into an indispensable and helpful expert is the way to go.
How would I brand myself?
TuCats-Design.com is the only small business resource with INSTINCT? Hummm … might be true. What I’m good at is finding information. I can show you how to make sense of it and pull it all together to make your online small business a success.
