Are FFA ads right for you? You see the ads all the time…
“Your link on thousands of pages”
“Your link at the top of the list”
“Generate thousands of hits with our FFA”
You also probably see pitches for FFA submission services or automated FFA Blasters of one sort or the other. They sure look like a great idea. If you post your ad it will be seen all over the world by millions, or will it? How often do you surf links pages for the next great opportunity? Odds are the only reason you visited a given FFA page was to experience a little joy at seeing your link in print on the internet. I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but think about it. The main benefit in FFA pages is that it gives the page owner an opportunity to send you their marketing message. If you post to links pages you will receive a flood of response messages that far outweigh any hits your link might receive.
My advice to you is simple.
1. If you want to use FFA pages, I highly recommend that you participate as an owner. You will have the benefit of receiving the posters name and the right to send them a marketing message. If you own your own site and surf a bit you can find free FFA pages that you can install yourself. If you’d rather not host your own FFA Page, there are hundreds of people who would love to do it for you. I will throw out The Simple System as an example. For a fee they will host the FFA page, collect the names, and allow you to send a message to all posters daily. It is clean, efficient, and quick. http://www.mysimplesystem.com/d.cgi/118663
2. If you post on FFA Pages don’t expect a lot of clicks and expect a ton of messages. Don’t use your primary mailbox when submitting or you will get flooded. You can sign up for free e-mail at tons of sites and use that address. I periodically post to FFA pages, because I get lucky once in awhile. To minimize my hassle I have an account with Total Saturation. I use them to send messages and I use them when I post to FFA pages. The nice thing about them is that when my box reaches a certain amount of e-mails they are automatically deleted for me. I never have bounced mail to this account. Some FFA services ban you for bouncing e-mail and you will never know it. Don’t spend hours submitting to FFA pages, bouncing e-mail, and getting banned without your knowledge. In answer to the question I posed at the begining of this article. FFA pages might be right for you. You just need to know the possible pitfalls and how to creatively maximize the posting experience.
