Linking to Competitors & PR

Hi All,

My arena for selling products is very competitive (well I think it is).. and hard to get reciprocal links with most competitors in the same arena as I.

However, my business is soley UK based and I was wondering if it would have any bearing if I build up my reciprocal links with businesses based in say the US.

Does that make sense?

In other words, if I can't get inks from competitors here in the UK, would a link from a non-direct competitor in the US have the same efffect on PR. Or is PR locality based as well?

Normally if your products are complementary to your competitors, they will be glad to link with you. But if you are having similar products or non related products, then you will definitely be rejected.

I have received lots of emails asking for linking but most of them are non-related products or services. So, it will not be good for my site. So you can check if those sites you want to link with, make sure that it is related otherwise you will be rejected.

To me it doesn't matter what country you are linking with. It matters more what the product is. We sell jewelry. I have customers and links with people all over the world. I used to mind linking with competitors until I realized jewelry is personal. What someone loves might not be on our site no matter who I link with.

For me as long as our site's theme or product is relevant there
is no problem whether you are from other country or what..
The main focus here is the relevancy..
