About the backlinks from yahoo answer.

Hello, i get many backlinks from yahoo answer for my site but as they are "nofollow",
i wonder if those links can help to promote my pr or other benefits...

the only reason why I do Yahoo Answer is to get a nice targeted traffic. but most of the time, I'm just there to have fun and help out with others... you can always help others out by pointing them the answers or even websites, you can suggest your website sometimes or use it as reference when giving your answer, if the member likes your answer or question, there is a chance that he would visit your site. you should also try other answer sites that could give you backlinks,

I posted a few links when I was answering questions and Yahoo banned my account. I conviently opened another one. How is it that you get away with posting links on Yahoo Answers and don't get banned?

You can post links, as long as your answer is helpful, informative and directly answering a question.

If you're willing to post links to several complimentary sites as sources for your answer, so much the better.

If your answer is not relevant to the question and if you only drop your link there to get traffic and get rank in yahoo Yahoo surely banned your account. Make sure that your are no doing the posting and answering the question to give helpful tip and information for the members .

I think links can be posted as long as it is related to the subject and/or stands as a resources of the subject matter..

He he.. it looks like you spammed the Y! answers a little bit with your answers. If several readers flagged your answer as being a irrelevant response, yes, Yahoo will restrict your access to post anymore answers.

You should link to other sites as references so your participation is not mistaken as spamming. And answer the questions that you can and link to your site as a reference when best suited.

In my experience, relevancy did not matter. My answers were voted "Best" on numerous occasions. Still banned for a TOS violation.

Yahoo Answers works great for driving targeted traffic for your website if you use it in correct way and dont spam links in every post. Once you build your good reputation people will respect your answer and recommendations and thus you can attract more visitors to your website.

No PR benefit but the traffic from YA is great. especially if you give useful and relevant answers to the question asked

And the higher your level it seems the more traffic you generate. Probably a perceived authority thing

Contributing users can report abuse directly to Yahoo! Answers.

An Admin reviews the suspect question, answer or username, decides whether or not it violates Yahoo! Community Guidelines or Terms of Use and deletes it if required.

There is a trust factor involved. Users can be assigned the "Trusted Reporter" status based on the number and validity of their reports.

Sometimes the decision is made by the asker but you can vote on other peoples' answers as well
