Quick way to the top of a Y! Directory Category!

Hey everyone,
So you already have a listing in the Yahoo! Directory, and are sick of being buried deep in the listings. Did you know that you can shoot to the top of your category with a (relatively) cheap Sponsor Listing? The best categories to target are ones that are currently showing Sponsor Results, because purchasing a Sponsor Listing in these automatically bumps the Sponsor Result box and replaces it with your listing! Here's one that could be '"taken over"' if you're listed there: Rug Retailers and Manufacturers in the Yahoo! Directory

I find their cost for inclusion in the directory expensive, are they really giving that much traffic when your listed in their directory?

Well, traffic from a directory listing depends on your site and your category, of course. And yes, for some the fee for Directory Submit is a bit high. But at least you end up with a quality, static link. My original point is that going for the Sponsor Listing puts you up top, front and center. You're a lot more likely to receive a higher click through.

It's true that you need to pay for a static link and the opportunity to get more clicks to your site. Some of these visitors may eventually become your customers. However, one needs to calculate the cost that he/she has to pay and compare it with the probable returns.

But that is expensive. I am just wondering why Yahoo don't offer free submission for their directory
