Default Yahoo banned my IP - Why?

I receive an alert email (to my yahoo mail account) every time somebody add a new website to my free directory. ( Webseite eintragen Website hinzufügen - site hinzufügen | site eintragen URL anmelden )

Since yesterday i do not receive it any more. It looks like my IP get banned by yahoo because if i'm changing the email address from yahoo to gmail or something else, everything is ok.

So what can i do now?

Some ISPs use rate limiting as part of their anti-spam filters. If similar e-mails originating from the same address domain or IP are sent within a certain amount of time, the filter is triggered and blacklists that IP address. At this point, your option would be to contact Yahoo and request that the IP address be whitelisted as these e-mails are business related and only coming to your account. Unfortunately, the instructions to whitelist an e-mail address are usually sent in the bounce message that goes to your host. Check with your host and see if they can forward one of the bounce messages to one of your non-Yahoo e-mail accounts.

You should not be relying on a free anonymous mail provider for business critical email. It looks unprofessional and frequently results in anomalies such as what you are experiencing now.

That aside, we recently experienced a failure of outgoing mail send from bots in our corporate site (hosted by SiteGround). It turned out to be SiteGround that had instituted a block on all outgoing mail not whitelisted in their anti-spam filter rules. Took a day to figure that out, though.

Maybe your IP is one used by spam bot networks, maybe you should find a clean IP address and use that.

The other day Yahoo put a 48 hour block on my email account. This was because of "unusual activity." (There WAS no unusual activity) and they did the same thing a couple of days later.

Could they have closed your Yahoo account for the same reason?

Yahoo's email service has been getting a bit weird of late...
