Yahoo.com (UK) VS Yahoo.co.uk (UK)

I hope somebody can help with this query.

Our long standing PR6 website has traditionally had very good SERPs on Yahoo generally but recently has taken a major plunge on Yahoo UK & Ireland UK Results http:// uk.search.yahoo .com/search) . This happended a couple of months ago.

I have just noticed that we are still getting very good SERPS on Yahoo.com UK Only. (http:// search.yahoo .com/search) although this search method is little used in the UK.

Any ideas as to why the UK & Ireland results should have been effected so badly while the .com (UK) results remain very good?

Sometimes, especially with Google, the country where a site is hosted can have an effect on ranking in national searches, as can the tld used. Is the site hosted in the UK, and is the URL .com or .co.uk or something similar?

HI,

THe site is a .co.uk hosted in London UK on a dedicated server, thats why its odd that YAhoo are returning excellent results on Yahoo.com (UK results ticked) and poor results on YAhoo UK & Ireland the dafault UK YAhoo format.

THis situation has been the same for a about 6 months now. Prior to that we ranked well using either option.

By the way its not Barbados Dream (signiture site) that I am talking about but another UK financial website.
