Question Yahoo bogging down my browser

Okay this one is out of left field, but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem or If I alone am blessed with this.

Everytime I sign onto any yahoo product (home page, My Yahoo, Launchcast) it bogs down my browser (The newest version of IE) I though for a while it could because of yahoo tool bar, so I uninstalled every yahoo program that was on my computer. and tried it again (yes, after a restart) and for 3 days afterwards it's still bogging me down.

looking for any feedback here, so feel free.

This same phenomena was reported by several members of Y! Merchant's forum over the past mos. since IE7 became available. The complaints were identical to what you're reporting. I haven't seen anyone post about it recently - I think the original thread kept the rest of us from upgrading. I won't since I use so many Y! products. Maybe I'll re-start a thread over there and let you know the current rumblings.

The new Yahoo! uses lots of AJAX. What solved that problem for me was uninstalling JAVA totally. I didn't realize it but I had like ten updates in there. Fresh install of JAVA, no more problems.
Hope it works, did the trick for me.
But if you really want to fly on Yahoo!, use Firefox with the adblock plus plugin. Them video ads take alot of time to load.
After you do that add http://*.googlesyndication.com/* to your filters and you're flyin.
Have Fun! Dan

I use Firefox and never have had a problem accessing Yahoo...try a different browser.

That seems to be the standard reply people on these type of "net help" message boards give - have a problem? Ditch IE and use Firefox.

Although, don't forget that if you use Microsoft web services (i.e., MS update, Microsoft Office Live!, MS Clip Organizer, etc.), those services really REALLY hate Firefox! I have tons of trouble with them since I have Firefox as my default browser.

Nowhere did I say dump IE. What I said was my Java installation was all jacked up and that was causing my troubles. First I forgot to say I had a trojan downloader packed in my JRE files.
Now why I just happened to mention Firefox was because of the plugins available which is the only reason I use Firefox.
A total uninstall(including all of the JRE updates) and fresh install of Java was the cure for me .
Chill, you should expect any MS product to get dissed, it is just the popular thing to do these days I guess.
