Default Response from Yahoo

OK... so I went to the reinclusion site that was provided by hitusa.

Below you will see the message that I sent to them.

My name is Melissa and I am the new
marketing specialist for this site. I
understand that Yahoo put a manual
penalty on 1000's of sites that were
hosted with www.advancedaccess.com,
which was also penalized.

This company has made promises that
they have been working on resolving
the issue. It has been several months
and there is still no change in the
status as to what is going on.

Can you please give me an update on
the sites status? Has the site been
submitted for a reinclusion? Do you
have any time frame as to when the
penalties will be lifted, since this
was a manual action?

Here was their response:
Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Search.

It has been determined that your site may not comply with Yahoo!'s Content Quality Guidelines located at:

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearc...etions-05.html

Below are some answers to common questions regarding this issue:

Q: What are some of the common reasons that a site may violate Yahoo!'s Content Policy Guidelines?

A: Yahoo!'s Content Quality Guidelines (link above) outline what we are and are not looking for in pages that we index. Listed below are some of the more common reasons that a site may violate these guidelines:

- Cloaking (showing crawlers deceptive content about a site)
- Massive domain interlinking- Use of affiliate programs without the addition of substantial unique content
- Use of reciprocal link programs (aka "link farms")
- Hidden text
- Excessive keyword repetition

Q: If my site has a judgment against it, can I use the SiteMatch inclusion program?

A: All pages submitted to SiteMatch are editorially reviewed. If a site has a judgment against it, it is likely to be rejected by the SiteMatch program.

Q: If my site has a judgment against it, can I use the Yahoo! Express directory inclusion program?

A: Yes, the Yahoo! Directory and Yahoo! Search Index are different systems. Inclusion or exclusion from one does not affect the other.

Q: How can I have my site re-reviewed?

A: Please review our content quality guidelines to make sure that your site meets all of them. When you feel the site is ready, please complete the form located at:

http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/ysearch/cgi_rereview

requesting a re-review of your site. You may wish to include an explanation of unique features on your site, or details of changes to your site's content that may assist our editors in their evaluation.

Please allow several weeks for the review process, YST indexing, and a complete refresh of the database before checking http://search.yahoo.com to see if your site is listed in the Yahoo!Search Index. We do not offer specifics detailing how an individual site is not in compliance with our guidelines, but we will review your site individually. You will not be receiving further notification regarding your request for a second review, and we are not able to offer the option of another review.

Thank you for taking the time to make the Yahoo! Search Index better.

This to me sounds like the typical response that they send out.

What are your thoughts?

So, stating the obvious, there is no benefit to a link farm?

Default good content can help with links

If you have good content on your site people would want to link to you. Link farms can get your banned on Google.

Has anyone else used LinkManager? I stopped as soon as I understood that it might be a link farm. I would appreciate the assessment of anyone who knows what this is (www.linkmanager.com).

thanks
Do you mean LinksManager.com? The URL above (singular 'link') is not resolving.

LinksManager.com is not a link farm; it is a software system designed to manage a link directory; usually (but not always) a reciprocal link exchange directory.

In a link farm all members link to one another (or in some organized scheme) regardless of relevance. LinkManager's partner site, LinkPartners.com - Sites that swap and exchange reciprocal links is a directory that allows you to search for link partners, but you are not required to link to anyone and so it's not a link farm, per se.

Cheers, MJ

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but how can you find out what sites have been blacklisted by the different search engines?

I don't believe you can. Google sometimes alerts webmasters when they remove a site from the index. If there is a specific domain you are concerned about you can search the domain name in the SE and if it's there you will be able to see that; if it's not and there are good backlinks to it, there is the possibility that it's been removed for some reason.

Thanks.

Cheers, MJ

I don't believe you will get a response from Yahoo. Better probably to spend your time on adding content that Yahoo will like.

Hi Everyone, just have a question about yahoo. Used to get alot of hits, now pratically nothing. My website is Nextel & Motorola Cell Phone Accessories. I am a newbie with web design, but you can also access the site via Nextel & Motorola Cell Phone Accessories. I Recently noted that Yahoo is using this index site for some search words.
I also remember that when yahoo updated their search engine in I believe June/July time frame, these index
sites were getting very high volume in my panel. Shortly after, I got no hits from Yahoo. Could it be that Yahoo has confused my website with this index version of my site? Sorry if I am not asking this right, as I really don't understand
how the ip address works with the actual name of the site. thanks!

Since the site is more than 5 years old, I would never dare to change the domain. To specific, think about TrustRank.

I had two cases like that which sites went off the map at Yahoo and MSN and his rankings in Google were screwed up too.

Now they is back to the top in all 3 major SE. And for additional keywords they never have ranked for before.

We got all that fixed. So don't do fast steps and don't listen to every fairy tail.

By the way the hurt site owners are members here at WPW. If you want more info about them and what happen, send me a PM so I can PM you their members names so you can ask them yourself.

Good luck.

John
