Default One more proof for yahoo penalization

Here are some realestate directories which are facing the music of yahoo

search4mortgage.com/ Indexed pages in google : 125 yahoo : 2
irealestatedirectory.com/ Indexed pages in google : 7790 yahoo : 2

These 2 sites are hosted in same ip 74.52.58.210 along with 644 other sites most of which deals with same theme.

So beware of hosting many sites in same ip , It is very hard to listen that yahoo music

bye

But those sites are like 100% advertising, it's a good thing they aren't in a SE's index (sorry). It's more proof that google is screwing up though. Maybe they keep those sites around because they have AdSense adverts?

Do you really think that's what someone wants to find when they search for "Real Estate in Yakima County" for example?

Default Woeful directory sites with no content

CrazyM has posted exactly the same question over at searchenginewatch under a different username. Read the thread for further information and similar responses as those above.

Still, even with the other info, all it really proves is that google is more likely to let in spam sites than yahoo. OK it doesn't even prove that. Maybe it's evidence of that, but evidence and proof are two different things.

Maybe yahoo would let spam sites stay in their index if they had yahooPublisher adverts on them? Maybe google wouldn't include the site if it didn't have the google adverts?

Either way, I'm kinda glad to see any search engine drop sites like this from it's database. Nothing burns my butt more than seeing some sites like this beat out real web sites in the SE's (especially if they're mine or my clients sites!)

PS: You forgot to mention the other domains in your grab bag of sites.

search4listing.com
search4agent.com
search4rental.com
search4builder.com
search4byowner.com
search4forclosure.com
search4contractor.com
searchrealestatelisting.com
searchlisting.com
search4property.com
And many more I'm sure...

All interlinking together and completely identical to make 1 big happy family.

Personally, I'd say this is suicide and NOT murder by Yahoo...

bet! I also seem to get more traffic from google despite rankiing higher on google (not by much) than yahoo, and google supposedly being more popular.

Is that really a bad thing, linking all your related web sites together in a text link bar at the bottom of a page? like at the very bottom of floridafishinginformation.com?

Well, if they are relevant sites and actually have good content(not duplicate of course) on them then, no. It is not a bad thing.

The bad thing with these sites are for example, they all interlink to each other and 99% of all the pages have this for a content:
******************************

***************************
That would be 0, Nada, not a word of content on the pages.(except Google ads but they are not spidered)

If the pages actually had different content, then it wouldn't be bad. but all these sites are completely useless and IF pages made it in the index, they would be supplemental results at best.

Default whew!

Whew, you scared me for a minute there. Because I did see a benefit from linking all my (related) sites together with a simple text link bar at the bottom of most pages. All of my sites have the same IP address. For some reason I can seem to break PR2!

One of my sites did just get a link in a wikipedia article w/ a pr of 6, that should help.

Yahoo is incredibly effective at finding mini-networks and smoking them for dinner. Google needs help there from tattle tails (good ones).
