Default Yahoo! Jammed By Peanut Butter Memo

An internal memo by a senior vice president at Yahoo, where he extensively criticizes the company's practices and culture, was leaked to the media; Yahoo comes across as a firm caught in a bureaucratic malaise, where too much duplication and too little passion are the order of the day.

They're already starting to call memo author Brad Garlinghouse a "Jerry Maguire" too.

Default Yahoo reinvigoration required

David,

its good to see that someone is grabbing the bull by the horns. Yahoo have let Google dominate search - both organic and paid.

Anybody that uses both the Google Adwords and Yahoo search marketing systems wonders why Yahoo have slipped so far.

I could not agree more. I do not see
why a Giant like Yahoo cannot keep
pace with Google.

Default A Needed Kick in the Rear?

Nathan Weinberg says, "Yahoo is a great company in a bad dry spell, but is filled with so much talent that it can rise again. If leaders like Brad take control of the wheel, we are going to see something amazing."

Could this memo and the publicity it has received be just the right kick in the rear that the company needs to boost its competitiveness?
