Default Drop in Inktomi Slurp traffic

I noticed in our server stats that the number of hits from Inktomi Slurp dropped off in July to about 1/3 of what it used to be. I haven't checked through all our search rankings in Yahoo to see if that's changed as well, but I was just curious if anyone else has noticed a dramatic drop off in the Inktomi Slurp.

Slurp is the most active spider in a couple of my websites. Have you submitted a feed to Yahoo Site Explorer?

I hadn't, but I just submitted the feeds we have for our blog and our announcements. What will this do for us?

Get Slurp coming to your website just about everyday.

Default Another tip...

We were seeing a decline in Slurp traffic until we went through and validated all of our pages. Seems that Slurp likes valid HTML, which is probably the first legimate reason I've seen for validating a site. Referrals are about triple what they were before we got on the validation bandwagon as well. Just something to look at.
