Default OK on the "G" but Yahoo is left lacking....

Ok fans.... Here is my problem... among others.

Yahoo, that first of all great search engines, from the boys @ Stanford.... (like they will read this...), is holding me down... like the MAN does everyday to me.

But seriously, I have a good ranking for my terms on "G" but I am lost on yahoo. I have decent IBLs I think, nice optimization but still very little page position and therefore little traffic.

As you would think just seeing our site name would bring in the curious, the faithful, the disenfranchised, the hot and the pervs, still no listing on yahoo, except for a few isolated key terms.

And why, when I view my logs from 5 minutes ago, and I see a link from yahoo, I go to that search term and my site is not there. Weird.

my site is www.nipplecharms.com. No p0rn but PLEASE DO NOT VISIT if your community standards are tight a$$ed and this stuff is offensive to you and your community. :) :) (thanks to our lawyers for that legalese!)

Any help is, in advance, appreciated.

All my best and always remember to play sane,

Michael

PS, the short question is can anyone tell me now to rank better on yahoo? :)

You've stuffed your Title Tag with keywords, not good. Pick your two or three primary keywords / keyword phrases and seperate them with a |. Like this;
Non-Piercing Nipple Jewelry | Nipple Shields | Nipple Charms

You've also stuffed your Description Tag with your keywords, another no no. You can certainly use a couple of your keywords / keyword phrases in your description but what you've done is keyword stuffing. Make you description tag more converstional like because when the description tag is used in the SERPs that's what the potential visitor is going to read.

You've even stuffed your Alt Tags with keywords, only focus on one keyword per alt tag. Maybe rename your images something like; dangle_pearls_sm.jpg, but don't use too many words in the file name, 5 tops.

Default Ya-hoo-cares

I'm #2 for Yahoo with my keywords "Raffle Ticket Software" and I don't know how I got that honor. However, I think I'm on page 4+ with Google and yet Google brings me more hits than Yahoo.

This causes me to say, "Yahoo, hoo cares?"

Thanks solo.

Dave, the problem is I really could care less about traffic. I want sales. I noticed that a disproportionate percent of my sales come from yahoo and MSN. I get the lion share of traffic from google but not the same percent of sales.

If it were up to me, I would be happy with only 100 hits a day if 70 of the bought!

I will keep at it.

Michael

Hey! I did not know you could do that. But I also don't like that if they don't like the subject matter they can ban you totally. Now that would suck....

thanks guys.

Default Search Submit Express

While it costs, Search Submit Express is not a bad way to get your homepage pushed up in Yahoo listings. But it's not a free endeavor.

Just started trying it with a new client as a "cheaper" form of keyword advertising.

Will let you know what happens.
