Generally yahoo takes time for a page to rank well.

On the seo side, I would remove unecessary meta tags like the revisit-after tag. Usually the description and keyword tags are enough.

Additionally, to eliminate potential canonical issues with coachingsoccer101.com use a 301 re-direct to www.coachingsoccer101.com Yahoo has a lot of problems correcting canonical issues.

In fact I just ran a search in yahho for coachingsoccer101.com and you have a canonical issue. Check out the below thread for more info:

I prefer the www version just because most people use it

Make sure that you do a 301 permanent redirect and that you check it will the tool below to confirm that the redirection is working properly.

http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers.asp

here is the code if you are running apache that you can place in your .htaccess file

Options +FollowSymLinks
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.coachingsoccer101\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.coachingsoccer101.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Default Research

Soccercoach,

I'd do some keyword research. Optimise and align your site for the keywords that score reasonable volumes.

Very sound advice. Look at your top competitors and their links.

You can use worktracker or here are a couple of free tools to research keywords.

http://www.nichebot.com/
http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/

Get links with your keywords in the anchor text and from relevant sites.

Okay, so when I redirect, will that consolidate the way search engines see my incoming links. Because now I think they are 50/50 split. Like I said, I spent alot of hours link building

And thanks for the keyword advice. Actually i just used coaching soccer 101 just so I could see my rankings clearer.

One more quick question, will I lose #1 ranking at MSN for "coaching soccer" if I redirect. Right now they have me without the www.

Thanks again

Here's the code to 301 direct to http://coachingsoccer101.com

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.coachingsoccer101\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://coachingsoccer101.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Make sure that you do a 301 permanent redirect and that you check it will the tool below to confirm that the redirection is working properly.

http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers.asp

I checked using the overture search tool and soccer coaching had 3435 Searches done in February 2006.

You are #9 in msn for soccer coaching and that is good.

Here is an interesting theory called the seo halo effect. You can read more about it here
http://seoarticles.seoforgoogle.com/...alo-effect.cfm

The seo halo effect occurs when you reach number one for a keyword like coaching soccer. It becomes a lot eaisier to optimize for like phrases and achieve more number #1's.

For instance I see that "coaching soccer sports" had 148 searches done and it should be fairly eaisy for you to get number #1 there and get a little more traffic.

Default Now 18 in yahoo, now a real good question

As you know. I have a canonical issue at www.coachingsoccer101.com Without the www I am in top ten for MSN, AND #18 for Yahoo. Google nothing for either url for search term "coaching soccer". So would you redirect http:// to http://www or visa versa. I know scanmonkey said www but it seems more complicated now?

And I still dont know "how will Redirecting affect links for url I redirect away from ???

Thanks
