I think so...
I think there is some type of index update going on. I've been complaining that I've seen no activity from Yahoo for almost two months. As of last night, Yahoo had actually indexed a number of pages that I've created / updated within the last week.
They've fixed some url's that were changed, and seem to be updating a number of pages on our site. It does not appear that they've done a full index, but it seems like it's getting close.
I use their site explorer to see how the updates on my site are going and they seem to be hunting for lots of great stuff on the site.
We'll see how it goes.

Yahoo Site Explorer -> http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/
It allows you to see what pages on an URL has Yahoo indexed & lists what pages link to the URL.

A good update.
This looks like a good update in my opinion. I've got increased rankings for most of my phrases. We've been doing better on Google and MSN than Yahoo in the past, but we're starting to see the rankings evening out across all 3 finally.
Brian.

Thanks

I am surprised that haven't made it public about the update on their blog. They have been very good about this in the past year.

I've seen no changes at all. They've indexed 16 of my 232 pages. Some of those were deleted over a year ago. One is an incorrect url that never existed at all. On targeted keywords which rank page 1 on Google & MSN, nowhere on Yahoo. My site's been online over 5 years and is in their directory. Responses to my questions as to why this is so are canned and unhelpful.
Yahoo have a long way to go before being counted as a serious search contender in my view.

All three of the major search engines seem to have most, if not all of my pages indexed (the site map generator has been GREAT for me that way!) but traffic sure is not spread as evenly. Of my SE traffic, over 92% is from Google, 2.9% from MSN, and 2.4% from Yahoo. If this update gives me better traffic from Yahoo, I'm all for it. I hate to be so heavily dependent on one SE for almost all my SE traffic. Luckily almost half of my conversions come from traffic I get other ways, like past business, messageboards like this one and the one at WordPress.org, and a few other places. Though I've come through the latest Google updates unscathed, we all know that someday it'll be my turn to cry and pull my hair out. :)
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this Yahoo update.

YAHOO
I have noticed this update for a couple of days. I now have top 10 and some top 20 listings in yahoo for for a lot of different keywords. I have noticed google has been indexing my site everyother day and adding new cache. Yahoo has always giving me the majority of my se traffic. While google gives me only a fraction.

Google is my bread and butter
While google is my bread and butter, here's hoping Yahoo is starting to understand the importance of updates and relevancy in search results. They've now indexed some of my pages, up to about 2/3 of the site at the moment, but I'm waiting to see when they choose to index the rest.
I've seen about the same breakdown as you BJ, with most of my traffic coming from Google, but we're starting to see a little more from other engines.
I'd be interested to see a breakdown of the types of searches and searches between each engine.
Does Yahoo get as many technical searches as Google? And so on.

Some of our sites are now having good rankings with this update, it looks to be a good update in my niche.

Looks like. . .
It apears that google is moving toward a more link based alg. I have a site that I put up that I just haven't put a lot of time into getting links. It used to rank well before on yahoo, but it is now off the map. Yahoo seems to be ranking this site (or lack thereof) in a similar fashion as google has in the past.
Is yahoo going the route of google?

As have I. I have also seen a drop in this sites listing on Yahoo. For one site I'm talking about 1200+ links not being listed any longer.
Any ideas anyone?

They did some reshuffling about two weeks ago - see http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/000275.html.
I personally saw a big bump for several of my top keyphrases and have not seen a decline since. If you look @ the comments on the blog, though, it looks like several posters have noticed some spammy results within the past day or so.

Y! Update
I'd seen alot of visits from the Yahoo spider visiting one of the sites I maintain. Though I just started watching the logs via a new application I wasn't sure if it was normal.
This past week I updated meta data for some dymanic PHP pages and almost immediately noticed an improvement in rankings (in line with our Google rankings), though I've seen these great rankings drop since 4/6.
Hopefully things will improve as the dust settles and we learn what the most important factors are for this current update.
