Default Problems w/ Sponsored Search

I know this might be slightly OT but I have been trying to get help for 2-3 days to no avail.

I signed up for Yahoo's Local Sponsored Search prorgam. Created a login/pass, added billing info, etc. I had $5 charged to my card for an initial balance.

Got an e-mail saying my account was opened, their editors will review my listing within 5-8 days, etc etc. It also mentioned that I can login to my account to monitor the progress of those approvals. So I decided to give it a try.

My login/pass doesn't even work!
I'm pretty sure I typed it correctly, in the proper cases, and caps wasn't on. Security codes were OK.

Still couldn't login. Tried getting password hint, my login/email match but the page doesn't display ANYTHING. It seems to just reload the same page.

I would call them and speak with customer service but they don't have a phone number listed anywhere on the website. Well there are a couple but they are for Legal or Privacy departments.

Any ideas??????

Install the Firefox browser and try again. There are more and more sites that are not showing up in IE because you are running Norton Anti-virus and it decides to block things indescriminantly.

The more I hear about Norton, the less I like it. I use MacAfee and have no issues. If the anti-virus software is not the issue, has your $5 deposit cleared your bank? It may be that the account won't work, until it is approved.

You bring up an important point that few people notice, until it's too late: Contact information that actually works.

If a site does not list contact information, especially a phone number, I would recommend shying away from it. Yahoo is a reputable company, albeit a large one. So, technical support is usually in the form of email and is usually canned responses.

Companies that are not household names need extra scrutiny. If they don't have any contact information, forget them. If they don't have a phone number or an address, be concerned. If they have an interest in collecting your money, you should be able to contact them.

Default Yahoo (Overture)

IWebGeek,

I agree with Marketplace. I had terrible trouble using the Overture system when using IE.

If you're still stuck call investor relations. I find that gets a quicker answer than customer relations.

DrTandem1. I fully agree.

Yahoo Overture Charges a one time US $ 199 Setup fee, just to walk you through this setup process.

You can call it fast track or anything fancy but does'nt change the fact that: Basically they are ripping you off.

The FREE option is called Self Serve, basically you are on your own. No support. (no donut for you)

I had the same trouble and I did call them...the number is there somewhere...and she was expecting me! We reset my password and have not had any trouble since. I think that they want contact with you so reach out even if it is only $5.

Default Reporting problems

There's a note on the Overture site today saying they have reporting problems.

I fear Yahoo are falling further behind Google on this one.
