Default yahoo anomalies

Hi

Hoping someone can help me out...

take a look at this:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=sho...tab-web-t&b=11

we feature 12th spot for Short breaks which is superb!

Thing is its not the same on the 'normal' yahoo uk search, we appear much lower..

Any ideas? Cheers.

Joe.

Tim Mayer has indicated that a Yahoo Index Update is going on today, but went further saying that he expected it to be mild.

Sounds like you are talking about using the .com compared to the .com.uk

Aparently you are more relevant to show on top of the general Yahoo search but not localized. It wouldnt have anything to do with an update. It has to do with if you are marketing the keyphrase with a local word as well.

Search engine such as Yahoo sometime stake advantages of other search engine updates. Maybe they are taking some results from Google's jagger update and using that for their algo..

Why dont you have a .co.uk domain name or do you?

yeah we do...the domain is www.greatescapes.co.uk

other thing is we only re-launched 6 weeks ago but the domain had been out there for a while but with much weaker site.

we seem to be top of page 2 now for 'short breaks'....ooh, id I could jsut get us 1 or 2 places higher...

Wonder if there's anything else I could do?
