Default Dropped from Yahoo! Search. Re-submit?

Well, I think I'm at least partly responsible for my home page disappearing from Yahoo! It's gone. Not there. I've been very busy with other things and had neglected keeping my links clean and tidy. I had a whole bunch of broken and mis-directed links, which I cleaned up. I'd read on the WPW SEO forum that Yahoo! was starting to really penalize sites for bad links. So, I got cracking on the clean up. Interestingly, my links page is/was still listed. Go figure.

Anyway, now that my site's all spiffy, do I simply re-submit it or wait till Slurp or whatever the bot is called nowadays visit my home page again?

Thanks!

Thank you, SEOforGoogle.

I guess the answer was pretty obvious. If not listed, re-submit! I'll do so with the address you provided.

Cheers!

Default Not sure what I did to disappear

Thanks, Incredihelp, for the tip to fix what's wrong with my site and report what happened.

That's the problem. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I haven't changed anything on my home page. The only thing I had discovered was a whole bunch of broken links, which I repaired. My home page was ranked in Yahoo! at around #5 for years for my top keyword, voiceovers. Now totally gone. Ironically, my links page is still ranked at around 28.

In Google, I'm ranked at #6 for voiceovers, #12 for voice overs, and #41 for voice over talent.

Would you take a look at my site, http://www.peterdrewvo.com, and see if there's something blatant I've done to get my home page dropped?

Thanks!

I think the best thing you should do is invest in some web design help. That alone will help you convert customers and searchers in sales!

Couple of things:

1. Put your keyword(s) first in your title tag and move the "Peter Drew Voiceover" to the end.
2. Use your keyword(s) in the internal anchor text links to each page.

Thanks for those suggestions, Incredihelp. I've thought about doing both, but I'm reluctant to mess with my #6 ranking in Google. If I do try them and I drop, will Google re-rank me back into approximately the same spot, if I revert the site back to it's original state?

I appreciate your comment on site design. Most voiceover gigs are won in auditions. Occasionally, a job will come in directly from the site, but I don't expect it to generate much in direct sales. I average about 500 unique visitors a week, with about 80 of those from some ISP in Delaware and 50 from Googlebot. If producers do a search, they'll be looking at a number of VO people--from #1 to at at least #20 to hear a range of talent. I've never known a producer, including me, who listened to just one demo and said, "That's our talent!"

I just decided to check another keyword I don't really optimize for: voice overs (voice overs instead of as one word, voiceovers). "Voice overs" is twice as competitive a keyword. Anyway, I just did a Yahoo! search for voice overs and see that my home page is #25 for that keyword. Any idea why I've been dropped for one keyword and have actually gained ground in another? Very strange.

Thanks, again for your suggestions.
