I would say that without doubt it is useful for a few reasons. I am in the process of writing an article about the difference between Yahoo and Google SERP's and noticed for several high traffic keywords that fifty percent of the sites Yahoo returned were in its directory. Yahoo linked directly to the category from the SERPs. Also, I am have seen that some of my clients receive a fair amount of qualified traffic through Yahoo's directory. I think it's a good investment overall - just pick the right category and do your best to craft the perfect listing title and description.

Hi Chris,

Just now i visited your website. I found the site is having all the essentials things needed for SEO. Its having Good content and your directory structure is also good. I suggest you to go for your site optimization instead of paying for search engines or directories sponsored listings. SEO will give you results for a long run and its an one time investment.

Regards,
Amar

OK, I found that directory listing. I came up on my onlinetv as number 1. as online tv at 32. Now I get it. But how come you have to pay now? If I did it can I get more words to come up for me?

How do you get the common search to come up with results? I still have not found onlinetv when I do a regular search, just trademark infringers and spammers. A few weeks ago I was on the top there and at Google. Google refuses to even acknowledge that onlinetv.com exists anymore. At least Yahoo will force the information out.

I get a lot of yahoo traffic, and it must come from directory listings. I do not even appear in the regular searches under any term.

If you have a relevant url you should not have a problem getting into your slot when your site content matches the name.

DO NOT PAY YAHOO ANYHTING, DO NOT HAVE TO. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR HARD EARNNED MONEY AND SCREW YOU. BESIDES JUST BECAUSE YOU PAY THEM DOES NOT MEAN GETTING A GOOD POSITION. PAID INCLUSION IS SOMETHING GENERAL MOTORS DOES. DON'T DO IT GIVE THE MONEY TO THE NEEDY INSTEAD. FUN TO BE DUMB
