Yes, all our backlinks from Yahoo and directories which feed from it - like AllTheWeb and Altavista - have dropped to only 2-3 from over 300 during the past week !!!

Now this looks like a Yahoo Dance after all the talk of Google dances. Or is Yahoo using a big broom and sweeping out everyone ;)

Default Just noticed...

I just noticed that myself... Glad to know it's a global thing and that it's not just me. I'm guessing it will work itself out over the weekend (I hope). A "Yahoo Dance" as prasadr puts it. :o)

Default My guess

My guess is that Yahoo's 20B pages caused the problems that people were predicting to finally occur. Going from 6B to 20B is more than most any software can really take, and it looks like it finally broke.

I'm sure Matt Cutts called Tim Mayer to rub it in. They have a friendly rivalry going on, and they were joking back and forth during SES about how each were up late counting and such.

In any event, I'm sure we'll never find out what has really gone on here. But we'll be able to make some educated guesses.

Brian.

Looks like this Yahoo Dance is for the better today. Our site http://designspot.in shows about 370-odd backlinks today on Yahoo as well as on Alltheweb and Altavista.

More importantly the keyword searches of our #1 strings are back again :-)

Default Wow.

Wow... we're actually showing 23,000 links. It's sort of fun seeing some of our links from CNN and the conferences I attend in the list towards the top. Good stuff.

I wonder if it's all fixed or if there are lingering issues...

Brian.

The few clients I've checked on actually are showing improvements. Guess I missed the action.

Default Seen Increase to site links

I have seen a 800 back link to my main web site from yahoo at www.4iautos.com
I have also seen 200 back links to my Canadian version of my Automotive web site at www.4iautos.ca
I have also seen 500 back links to my United Kingdom version of my Automotive web site at www.4iautos.co.uk

The real funny thing is most of my search engine clickthrough's come from yahoo. I have a 8X increase from Yahoo than I do from Google and Msn.
Google Gives me the most with over 20,000 Web pages listed between the three different Web Sites.
