Default Yahoo Publisher Network launched...anyone invited?

Just received a mail from Yahoo

Quote:
Today, Yahoo! Publisher Network launched a new self-serve platform
that will provide small- and medium-sized web publishers with easy
access to Yahoo! advertising and content...

...The Yahoo! Publisher Network self-serve platform is currently
available as an invitation-only beta. If you haven't received an
invitation yet, please be assured that we will be extending additional
invitations over the course of the coming weeks and months.
Anyone invited yet that could give us a preview of the Yahoo?

Unlikely that webmasters will be allowed to run both Google and Yahoo ads on the same site. If we can it will definitely add variety and may better both CTRs & EPC. But not much chance of that happening...

Default Yahoo invite

Roam,

You're lucky. I've even tried e-mailing them. They ignored me entirely. I now understand the YPN is US only. C'est vrai?

dburdon, hi, i registered many months ago at publisher.yahoo.com, and the site I entered is not US at all. It's a very regional site outside USA.

Haven't gotten an invitation tho :( just this email that they will be sending out invites soon.

Default Yahoo PN

Roam,

I'm registered with Overture in the UK so I would presume they've got my details. I'll try your suggested link though. Thanks.

Also received notice, but no invitation. I suspect that the 'big guys' will get first shot.

We received an invitation to join and did so last week. Y! Publishers Network is very much like the AdSense but with one key exception:

"Publishers have the option of transferring Yahoo! Publisher Network earnings to their Yahoo! Search Marketing (Overture) accounts online to pay for clicks on your listings."

We haven't implemented the ad code yet but will probably do so tomorrow.

Well congrats on getting invited. Funny - I'd have ads on my site immediately after invitation. I hope they have a few different ad options then google. It is hard sometimes to integrate the google ads well into a site, and I never want to write a site for the ads. They should have more options in my opinion.

Let us know how things go with yahoo!

We were excited to get started too, but then decided take our time. We wanted to ensure that the ads are well integrated with our pages which is why we decided test them on our beta site and not to immediately implement them on our production site.

We also have a pretty solid relationship with Google AdSense (just did a one-on-one phone training with them last week) and want to make sure that we do not upset them or get banned from the program.

As far as the ad formatting options go, it is almost identical to the Google AdSense program. If you want to see actual screenshots of the YPN program, check out www.jensense.com

Today will probably be the day we have the ads on our site.

We decided to do a modest test with YPN at this time. We currently have a banner ad on the home page of the site located at www.groovejob.com

I'll keep you guys posted.

hi hunegnaw, thanks for the preview, looks good. What really matters is the targeting, earning & conversions of these ads. IMO yahoo should have been a little more creative and tried something new with the format, look or content than to just do exactly what G already does.

Do keep us updated on how these ads are working out. Although its unlikely im going to let go of Adsense anytime soon, unless both google & yahoo allow me to place their ads on the same page. That is even more unlikely ;).
