queenanne:
Brian and I respectfully have different opinions on some issues, but certainly not on this one though!
If that wasn't your intent, I apologize.
Please remember, It's Not What You Ask For, But How You Ask For It.
NOW ... having said all that, let me make a few points:
Many Y! Groups are wise to unrelated posting and don't let new members post anyway.
Posting "ads" in an open group in Yahoo will likely get you banned from the group, and possibly reported to Yahoo and banned altogether - your membership and your website.
A few alternatives:
Take a few minutes to seek out business groups that allow for posting of new ventures.
Find groups that specifically fall within the genre of your offered product or service - place your information in the "Links" section and then send a note to the group owner or moderator and ask them for permission to post the message. It's not as cumbersome as you may think; put your typing skills and notepad to work.
Finally, if you're wanting to specifically target Y! market, consider spending a little investment up front and advertise with them - Yahoo Groups are full of sponsored ads!
Good Luck - Hope this helps.
