I'm really disappointed today in Yahoo's results (of course I lost a high traffic #1 listing). Has anybody else found the results "spammy" at all for really competitive terms? Did Yahoo run an update recently and reindex sites?

Yea, people on various forums are stating that yahoo did an update. Most of our rankings remained the same - our forum jumped about 20 rankings.

It also happen to my sites. My sites were in the first pages, with ranks moving from 1-10 position. Yesterday, suddenly it ranks at 349 position, and the older cache replace the newer one.

It also happen to my sites in earlier month, but eventually back to first page.

I just hope it will be back normal as they crawled and replace the index with newer one.

Thanks everybody - I'm still ranking well on many key terms but it was the one term in particular. Would it be wise to start making adjustments right away or give it a few weeks a see how it turns out. I'm thinking that this was just the beginning.

I have noticed that my pages have jumped to #1 and two lately. I think that Yahoo has finally rank my site with some importance. I have been spending so much time trying to get ranked on Google and haven't been paying much attention to Yahoo. Can Yahoo be adopting some of Googles page rank techniques?

Im thinking maybe my server was down when they crawled, or maybe because the site was only made 2 weeks ago.......is there a sandbox for new sites on yahoo now ? i guess i will see in the next update, whenever that is lol......
whats your thoughts about the so called sandbox now happening on yahoo!

Definitely something up with Yahoo. Yesterday I got over 300 referrals from Y! Today I got 2 referrals at 3 am and then nothing all day... Google recently went through this kind of thing, I wish they could be just a LITTLE more consistent.

Default Yahoo rankings

I have been moving up in yahoo steadily. I did notice a update in my backlinks with them, but they still are not crawling my site worth a darn.

Yahoo is slowly recovering for me too. Appears very similar to what happened to Google over the past few months. A catastrophic data loss or corruption would explain it, but it could be something else. We'll never know--they won't tell.
