Default Y!

I'm seeing your site as 1&2 for that search. I only see the directory listing as a sub-section of your first listing; is that what you mean?

If so, that's just how they do it. Google does the same thing.

Are you saying that since we rank #1 yahoo pulls the information out of its directory listing and places it in the description with our fist listing?

Our 2nd listing description is off of our actual site-

I guess google just makes this more clear because they tab over your results if they list more than one page for your site

I have similar experience with Yahoo's directory results appearing instead of the actual page's current description and content. There are cases where the keyword that applies to a homepage shows up on page one, but shows the original directory description and title. Somewhere around page 2 or 3, the homepage is listed again, but appears as it was indexed during the last update. I haven't seen them closer together though, as you are experiencing. Perhaps it's good for your site though, great to secure #1 and 2 spot.

Interestingly enough, now today for a few pages I'm only getting directory results instead of our current description listings. Problem is, our directory listing is out of date and puts us in a weak position for a couple words.

I hope there's some kind of reindexing this morning, and this is only temporary. We were doing good yesterday...

At least they finally updated backlinks. This is how i realised the 1st listing was from the directory! For the longest time i just accepted our site was #1 on yahoo for that keyword until this update.

I had to break the news to the boss:

ME: "Sir, we are no longer #1 on yahoo"
BOSS: "WHAT@@!, who passed us up!!"
ME: "We are now #1 and #2 :-)"

Im waiting on google for their updates. My site has been moving back an forth from #1 to #2 for one of my keyterms. It switches everyday from 11pm CMT and 8am -

Well I Hope the Best for everyone during these updates-

Cheers
Derek
