Default Yahoo's delisting my pages....

I have a site that has a lot of pages(about 5000). www.broadbandhunter.com Each page is optimized for a specific locatio across the USA. Everyday the number of pages that Yahoo has indexed varies, but as of late I notices that they are slowly decreasing. I know Google frowns upon this, but does yahoo penalize for having duplicate entry pages?

Yes, they don't like spam. Most search engines don't like useless pages filling up their databases.

However, if you have a problem with them de-listing pages, then you might consider their Pay-For-Inclusion program.

Seems like spam to me. But I see your type sites constantly everywhere on the SE's.

They should be banned. Then more relevent sites would show up more.

Overture will not even let you PAY to have the pages displayed.

wait a minute here. how do you figure that is spam? becuase I am I trying to be listed for each city I offer service? I offer a great service in many different cities through the US? How would you suggest I maximize ny site for 1500 search phrases?

Just don't repeat a sentence on a different page. Then you are not spamming.

I agree, it's very difficult to optimize a site for 1500 cities. You can start by not automating the building of the pages. To truly optimize/create each page without being caught for spamming by the search engines you'll have to create unique content on each page.

On the other hand, if you create a greate site that's not optimized for 1500 cities but optimized for the actual product or service you provide, you'll end up showing up in the search results if someone searches for a city name and the product or service you provide.

No one is implying that it is intentional spam, just pointing out that, regardless of your reasons, the fact is that that amount of duplicate will set of metaphorical spam-alarm bells with SEs. Algorithms may be getting cleverer, but they still can't second guess the intent behind every occurrence of multiple dupe content pages.

Like bhartzer said, it's very difficult to do what you're aiming for without tripping the filters.
