Default search term JOBS

Hi

I have an employment site so as you can guess its as hard as the "S" on superman's chest to get to the first page. Im number 307 out of 166,000,000 for the search term jobs in the 400's for "employment". A few weeks ago i jumped from the 800's to the 300's.

My question is should i let the site sit and not change my anything like keywords, title and text.

Thanx for your input
mike

I wouldn't just let the site sit around and die a slow death. The only way to continue is to start doing some heavy keyword research to determine the keyword phrases in that industry that don't have a lot of competition--and there are plenty of them still out there. When in doubt, specialize.

You can focus on certain niche industries and jobs in those industries, you can focus on certain cities or states, or you can use a unique combination of cities, states, and certain niche industries.

No matter what your site's topic, if you find yourself with too much competition, the best thing to do is to find a niche within that topic that doesn't have competition.

And after finding the niche that bhartzer recommends, and nailing down those 2 or 3 keyword phrases, do a 3-6 month headstrong link campaign to get people linking to your site using those 2 or 3 keyword phrases. That should jump you into the 100s (if your reciprocal links are relevant).

Optimize your page to the max, and use the SEO tools available to ensure it's fully optimized.

Over the 3-6 months of campaigning, you'll find dozens, if not hundreds, of other things that could do with some tweaking...

Hi GiftsForYouBiz,bhartzer

thank you for the info sorry it took me so long to say that. I went to the Packer's game and on the flight back home i picked up a cold from someone??.

In the days that i did nothing, the page rank dropped and then went back up. so i will specialize and work on the link campaign.

Thanks
Mike
