Default How to Predict Yahoo Web Search Listings

I found a new switch for yahoo search that gives you all the content that is inside the yahoo database, but not yet officially published.

It is the vs-switch, described on Jonnygoodboy's blog.

I am interested to hear about other ways to use that switch.

If you are referring to appending &vs=www.domain.com to your query Url ... all that does is filter out your site for that search string. It does not show you the Slurped pages that are not in the index already.

I tested this with pages that have been crawled from one day ago and up to a week ago --could not get them to appear by appending the Url with the string.

Where did you hear about this anyway?

Default RE vs switch

You have to use the syntax:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=SEARCHTERM&vs=URL

Try http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=blo...stractions.com

Gives a article posted on 8/23 on your site.

If you search for "SP2 Blocker Tools"
"SP2 Blocker Tools"
your site does not yet appear.

But it does appear. Actually I am shocked that it made it into the Index that quickly. Link to query. Same one you used.

Here is a screenshot.

This is too strange, because I am getting those queries to pop up. I ran that switch on some recently crawled pages that were not in the index, and getting the opposite results you are getting.

Where did you hear about this switch?

No Easter Eggs involved here -- URLs go live for all searches at the same time.
