Default yahoo penalty

recently i got an unpleasent surprise from yahoo - got dropped greatly on ALL my search terms, eg from 2 to 30, from 5 to 70

i wonder what possibly i could do to reserve this. no major changes were done since previous yahoo dance - just news.

any suggestions appreciated.

Considering that there was reportings of Slurp being quite busy last week for a few days ... I am guessing there are more pages in your area to deal with -- competition.

It would help to know what your website is and the key terms your are targetting, so we could take a look and see if there is anything we can help you with or notice something that might be out of place.

thedark, if you tell us what your url is then we can do a thorough analysis of it to see what may have happened.

Oftentimes, there are lots of off-the-page factors that might contribute to a loss of Yahoo! rankings, though, including:
- loss of a directory listing
- loss of links to your website from other sites
- your site was down temporarily
- your competition started optimizing their websites

thank you

i'd wish to discuss this with exact url, but the guy owns site asked me not to badly.

i have 11 keyphrases with overture rating ( http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/ ) ~50000-7000 with google positions 1-7
my page rank is 7
~5000 incoming links

pretty same positions were in yahoo until recently. google positions did no change. yahoo's fall badly.
any ideas?

Nope. Can't come up with any ideas without specifics. As stated earlier, Slurp was very active and populated their index with a slew of new pages. Without knowing the specifics of your situation, it would be irresponsible of anyone to speculate on what may be taking place.
