Default My Yahoo! Wants Your Feed

As most of you know, My Yahoo! has been beta testing support for RSS for some time. There was a recent story, http://tinyurl.com/3eft2, that appeared on WebProNews that caused a flurry of activity, the likes of which hasn't been seen since Jeremy Zawodny originally blogged about this service: http://jeremy.zawodny.com/blog/archives/001474.html

Tinu, the writer, makes an important point that bears repeating: your feed *should* be in the My Yahoo! directory. While our RSS directory is growing every day, we aim to be every bit as inclusive as Feedster, Technorati, Syndic8 and the like.

So here's where we need your help: please make sure your feed (and the ones you care about) are in the My Yahoo! directory and working properly. How? Add 'em yourself -- here's how: http://my.yahoo.com/s/publishers.html#find

Then make sure the Y! FeedSeeker is fetching your feeds often enough. As always, your feedback is welcome: http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/my/cgi_rss

Thanks!

Yep. I have been using the beta service for quite some time, since April as a matter of fact. I even submitted an article about it to WPN back then, but apparantly I guess it was not that big of news. So I just put it in my blog under Yahoo RSS Syndication FAQ for Publishers.

I have been picking up a few subscribers here and there a month so it is pretty cool. I have my Start Page set to My Yahoo, and it is kind of nice to see my own feed up there in lights. I actually have three to choose from, so I have one page set aside to visually see that all of them are being pinged and updated.

One thing I did report about back then was that the FAQ mentioned that there was no support for Atom. But shortly after that, I gave it a try -- and it worked. I would just like to point that out to you, you can subscribe to Atom feeds with My Yahoo too (not just RSS). Any XML format that validates can be used.

I have one question though Mike, will you eventually have a directory to view the feeds from? I know you can search for feeds based on keywords, but it would be nicer to browse through the feeds if it were set up in a normal directory that is categorized.
