Default Could do better

The recent Yahoo mail upgrade was a pleasent suprise, but I think it's time for companies offering free email accounts to begin monitoring how their services are being abused.

Most unscrupulous businesses and scams on the internet use and are associated with free email addresses.

Secutity & Safety tip:

Do not do business or purchase from a company whose only contact is a free email account and never open email sent from a free email accout unless you recognize the sender

Yahoo and Hotmail are the biggest but there are many others.

However, I keep telling my friends and collegues this, but no-one takes any notice.... Its like people who are non-technical, they do not know any better.... so they open anything and everything... and they come to me to say My PC crashes a lot recently, and I don't know why... Nine times out of ten its a virus....

(Sorry I've turned it into Security in my reply, appologies)

well - you can just tell them, not force them. i know many people who even have a website but still use web based free e-mail - just cant make them understand.

Default I agree 100%

Good topic Mark...
I have to say that I wouldn't do buisness with someone that just has a @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com addy... for two reasons...
1.) Tons of virus'
2.) Completely UNprofessional

I do however get a kick out of peoples buisness cards, when they hand me one I always look for the email address... I can't help but snicker when I see @yahoo.com :))
