Yahoo Yellow Pages -- Now you see him, now you don't
Hi Guys,
Here's a curiosity. And, it's almost a contradiction in terms. One of my own non-development Web sites is in the same service category as that of my Web development client. I am near Boston, and he is near Chicago.
His is a new Web site, and he has already had two solid inquiries from Yahoo's Yellow Pages. That's great. (That was fast, too!) It says three things -- YYP already has him posted, people are visiting his site, and his site sells. So we're not complaining. But get this...
Listings seem to be organized by distance from the subject town. However, he is nowhere to be found under "Chicago." Yet I am (albeit way deep in the list). He's only about 10 miles away and I'm, what, maybe 400 miles away. Chicago is highly relevant (organic) to his own site, and not at all to mine.
Very curious. Has anybody run into this? Does anyone have any idea where there is good published info about YYP? Thanks.
Hal
