Default Yahoo and blocking accounts

Yesterday, I tried signing in on my I.D which I had since 2001, when I try to sign in with this I.D, it keeps saying invalid password... So I tried changing my password, but it tells me my account has been deactivated!... For what may I ask. Jesus!

My yahoogroup mail keeps coming through though to my other email addresses, how can that be when my account is disabled? A bug? Useless!

I only use Yahoo for their groups......

I've emailed them about this, still waiting for a reply.

Anyone experienced the same, or have Yahoo a vandetta against me.

<angry mood>

They just did a major upgrade to the accounts there, maybe there is a signal crossed somewhere.

I have a yahoo.ca account, and I have had to get new passwords and all sorts of other grief, like not wanting to accept emails that I try to send through outlook or OE...
I have wondered the same about myself.

It must be a vendetta against us, I can see no other cause.

That is wierd, though, just rereading your post.

Yahoo messenger was down last night, well, mine was anyway. I couldn't connect at all - email or otherwise.

Yahoo! definitely had problems yesterday. Are you experiencing the same issue today?

I mostly use Yahoo! for the groups, and the standard login page to my account seemed to work fine for me.

I see the mail service is either "New" or has been updated.. maybe there's been a few bugs encountered as they've introduced it? Also.. I think they've been busy de-activating dormant email accounts. They now offer 2GB extra storage for $11.99 a year... plus they're also offering anti-virus protection and 100MB storage for their free email accounts. How do I know this? I've just signed in and re-activated my account.. that's how! ;o)

NB: They do state any email account that not been accessed for 4 months will automatically be de-activated.

Akami, the company that hosts Yahoo had problems yesterday. A lot of their top sites were down. It was only for an hour or two and some people only had log in problems.

There's an article here:

Default Yahoo failed several times.

When I opened a Yahoo account in the year 2000 with my name, within few days I had similar plroblem, repeatedly getting wrong passwrod dialogue. Then I had to open an account afresh now putting my initials in the last instead of the old. Then again it too started giving me the same sort of problem. Fed up with this sort of trouble I closed both accounts.

But use yahoo groups one must have a valid Yahoo ID hence I opened an account with putting three underscores between my initials t_r_s_..... Though till date this is working, my hard work and labour sepent on creating an account and web site at Yahoo Geocities gone into waste; as I could not open these with my user name and password of the old accounts, I never use yahoo for mail communications.

Wow...sensing googles Gmail bash, yahoo too started giving 100 MB space. But rediff.com beat them all by offering and immediately upgrading every account to ONE GB, that too without any fanfare and pampering ads! If not for Yahoo groups, I would never have opened another account with them at all.

They said I breached their TOS, thats why they disabled my account... Like hell I did, I only used it for the groups...... Now, they can stick it, I'm never opening another account with them - Yahoo is full of spam and weird people anyway...

Yes, youre right, I dislike Yahoo/Yapoo/Yahell/etc/etc......

Phew, feel better now I've ranted ;)

(Mods: Excuse me for my out burst) :)
