I disappeared from Yahoo

Hello. My site completely disappeared off Yahoo, last week.

I thought someone on this forum, who is much more intelligent than me might be able to share some insight.

I was ranked in the Top 2 positions for my keyword phrase, previously, but now I'm gone. I was not getting heavy traffic, but I was making consistent sales. Now...nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else? Did Yahoo make a major change in their algorithm?

You are still listed in Yahoo.

Yahoo, like Google use incoming links to determine a sites 'importance' - I can find none to yours.

And also, put more important keywords may help too.
like love handle, love handles....lose love handles (without s too), lose fat, get rid of fat....etc etc
Different searching words will have different search result for search engines.

With this ranking tool, you can check out different keywords result in seach engines. And also compare the ranking in different search engines.

CBP - I understand a little bit about incoming links. Here is what is confusing me: how did my site get ranked so high for several months without them...now, all of a sudden, they take on more importance? I held a #1 ranking for about 12-15 weeks and was making good sales.

I have seen recently a number of sites doing OK in Yahoo and not listed at all in Google. When searching for backlinks, I usually find none --- so I puzzeled why they are even listed in Yahoo, let alone ranking OK.

Here is another site I recently found the same for: www.surproperties.com (they have had ok yahoo rank for a while and no in Google and have no links)

In Google, newly found sites can sometimes get an initial artificial boost in the rankings (used to be called 'everflux' or 'freshbot effect'). I have seen nothing mentioned or written by anyone about Yahoo - BUT, given these recent eg's I can not help but wonder if Yahoo give new sites a similar artifical boost??? (perhaps for several months). How new is the site?

As far as I know Yahoo have not changed the algorithm and links has always been as important as they were.

Maybe someone else can shed some light on this.
