Default Admin - Funky e-mail alerts are back

While it's been a while since I've seen such, Clint1 has elsewhere noted that he's gotten such recently.

Just now received one which reads as follows.

================================================== =========

--------- something is (was) writing a meta refresh. That's what's causing the loop and what G saw when they last crawled and cached the page. Dave ---End Quote--- I looked at the mentioned issue and Dave you are damn right. So Clint, don't blame Google for something you messed up. *************** There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again. ================================================== ========

In the past, when such happened, at least the link to the thread was present as text, so that it could be copied & pasted into the browser's address bar.

Now, such is just a series of asterisks.

And, following such alert, I discovered that I had been automatically unsubscribed to the thread!

It may have been because of the length of the title and subsequent URL. As far as the unsubscribe, that's what those links you posted are supposed to do.

I'll point admin to this.

But, I could not click on those links, as they were text; and, I did not copy & paste such into my browser address bar!

When I went to visit this thread via my Control Panel, I discovered that my subscription had been terminated by the system.

The info (and this thread) has been passed on to IT. I'll be sure and post anything I'm told.

Hm-mm.

Were that the case, would not subsequent alerts be likewise garbled?

The 2 notifying me of your posts were fine.
