Why am I getting porn posts in my PMs?

I haven't logged in for a long long time here. I saw 3 unread PMs and checked them out - they are porn.

I haven't noticed this in other forums before. I assumed WPW was locked down pretty tight, compared to others, so I'm surprised.

Any ideas how these got in?

Occaisionally, this can happen. We usually take care of it rather quickly. I suspect the member has been already been "adjusted".

Please feel free to PM a Mod or Admin anytime this happens.

Are you still a dmoz editor?

In that directory it is not even spam

You know I am a link collector.

What is much worse. I may link to a semantic site or article and after a while it is a link to a porn site. Worse when that happen to my game site aimed at children.

That has happened once.

Yes, I'm still a (very) sporadic DMOZ editor. I just do enough to keep my account active - it has long since lost any relevance, IMO, but I maintain an account just for the heck of it. There are several very good human edited directories that I prefer to spend my time helping (JoeAnt, Skaffe, Web-Beacon are my faves. Lovely people there.)

Actually, this is the only forum I participate in where I get junk mail in my private messages.

I'd just like to be able to block all incoming messages. In the 5 years I've been a member here, I've gotten 1 legitimate PM. I just don't mingle "after hours"
