Open letter to members that intend to leave.
Today, may 17, Norway's, birthday or day of independence, I think I have been a WPW member for exactly 2 years. I have had my relatively small conflicts with other members and moderators, since I often write what I think, but not always.
I see that some valuable members intend to leave WPW if / when the rating system is implemented. My advicve. - If you do not like the rating system, shut your eyes, read and write. Should there be an ignore (on/off) button?
- If you think it is very biased, comment on it in the breakroom or in this subforum.
- Remember it is always up to the editor of a newspaper to edit it. (S)he may have the last responsibility for what (s)he allows people to write.
- So if you intend to leave, sleep on it. What is the alternative? Is it sure that the alternative is better?
- May be the rating system may have one positive effect, more members will think before they hit the carriage return. The negative is that posts that would have been written without the rating system is no longer posted.

I just got blatently flamed by the forum administrator.

I'm gone. If the admin sees no need to follow the rules why should anyone else? I prefer my hypocrisy straight-up.

Not flamed, you got made fun of...
You didn't get flamed, you got made fun of, and the joke was actually pretty funny and right on target.
KGUN...i think that the open and honest reviews are the best ones here, as long as people know what they are actually talking about.
I think that most people really don't even care about a ranking system, and anyone with a brain can see good advice and run with it.
I've found this forum to be a solid place to discuss things and I'm sure new ranking system or not, it will continue to be so.

Rating system or not, when honest factual advice is posted, little stars, moons, or clovers mean nothing more than a good warm fuzzy feeling from a ceral commercial.

Lucky Clovers! That's a great idea SEM, lets scrap this new system in favor of Lucky Clovers! Then we'll all be magically delicious.

Exactly...
Can't you tell the difference, you haven't been flamed yet. If you'd like to see unprovoked personal attacks, they can be arranged, but no one has begun being mean to you here.
Learn that your rant put you out there, and now you're just getting a little ribbing...when you realize that you aren't getting censored, and that people will let you post whenever you want, and that you've upped your post count well over 10% over these three threads, then you should be able to pat yourself on the back and feel like you have accomplished something.
Now go eat those lucky charms, their magically delicious and perhaps they'll help you forget the awful censorship you receive here at WPW, you know, since no one is allowing this thread, or the other one you started to continue. Oh wait...they are...there goes the whole censorship thing right out the window.

-Frantically scribbling, trying to understand the rules-
Good... Good...
Oh, but wes...
I'm on the no lucky charms side... Should I go NOT eat some.
Never mind... that never bothered me that much.
-Keeps scribbling 'worrying about censorship is silly', got it-

Let me guess...
Okay...let me guess, you're "censorship" case here, does it have nearly the same merrit as say Christians in Pakistan, or lets say blacks in the early part of the century here in the US, or perhaps people are keeping you from practicing your religion?
I'm confused how you are being censored, you won't stop running your mouth and no one is stopping you.
Yet, you are being censored. Really, lets think about what Censorship is, where it is truly important. Come on, one thread gets locked down and you want to scream at how awful the world is.
Perhaps you need some lucky charms, they'll help your disposition quite a bit. No one said censorship should be allowed, and when we see it, we'll let you know.
But glad to see you are getting that post count up, keep up the great work!

Ummm, if you reread my thread you'll see that I actually got MY say. Nope. My complaint was that once the thread was closed nobody else could even though it was obvious many people wanted to.
As for the world being awful... nothing I can do about that. My concerns are a bit more local, yes?
Besides... if web pro news has a "Christians in Pakistan" thread I'd be happy to pop in, but I don't think I would have much to post there. I think I'd find myself pretty much in agreement with the rest of the posters.
As for my "Post Count", your just being specious. If I was trying to balloon my postcount believe me I could do better than 150 in 3 years.
Nope. I've never posted my own thread before. I only did this time because it was something I cared about. This forum is something I care about. No, it's not world hunger, but I care nevertheless. For the most part I just lurk. There's a lot of guys in here a lot smarter than me, and I like to pick their brains. Of course, If you'd cared to examine my posting habits BEFORE casting more aspertions on my character I suppose you could have.
Besides... what would be the point? It's not like I'm being ranked or anything. ;)
Sorry. I couldnt resist.

We'll just leave it at that.
