WPW NewsLetter and Hotmail.com

1. Believe it or not, Hotmail is my preferred free email account, since I have a 100 % filter there. I only get emails from persons / companies on my address list. In addition, since I have a .net account, I get an automatic popup of a new email as long as I am logged in.

2. I removed the WPW newsletter from my Gmail account and tried to sign up with my HotMail account, but get the following message:

"Warning: mssql_connect() [function.mssql-connect]: message: Cannot open user default database. Using master database instead. (severity 11) in /web/jayde3/sites/php/webadd.php on line 406"

Does that mean that WPW NewsLetters can not be sent to HotMail accounts?

3. The sign up was also confirmed:

Your subscription request has been received.

An email has been sent to skupot At hotmail dot com

Important! You must activate your subscription:

No email received after 5 minutes even if

mike AT ientry dot com

is added to my address list.

4. Even if I get it, there must be an error in your database.

I get our emails fine on a test hotmail account. Ill pass your error message around and see what I can get out of the IT folks on it though.

the correct email address?

There is no problem receiving emails from WPW.

No, allowing mike@ientry.com isn't necessarily going to authorize emails from WPW.

You misunderstand. Is that the email address used for the WPW newsletter?

Hotmail is so simple:

Added ientry.com and webproworld.com to my Safe List.

Messages from addresses (or domains) on your Safe List are never filtered to Junk E-Mail
mike@ientry.com are already on my contact list.

Messages from a contact or group member are already considered safe.

Then I use the following Junk E-Mail Filters.

Exclusive - you will only receive e-mail from addresses appearing in your Contacts, service announcements from Hotmail, and messages you have consented to receive from MSN.
Delete Junk E-Mail. Choose what to do with your junk e-mail:

Delete junk e-mail immediately
Junk e-mail messages are deleted without ever being delivered to your Junk E-mail folder.
Junk E-Mail Reporting Confirmation

No, delete message(s) and report junk e-mail automatically.

Simple and effective. Hotmail rules.

Why move to Hotmail.com?

Automatic reminder when logged into .NET
Easy to handle when you have much to do or are on a holiday.

No, it isn't. Most of our email is going to originate from (something)@ientrynetwork.net

That's actually pretty surprising since (nearly) nothing from us is mailed from either of those domains.

Hotmail is better than it used to be, but I'm a GMail convert completely now. Once you let go of what you're used to and embrace the folderlessness, it's really fantastic.

i recieve my wpw news via hotmail and do not seem to have had any probs. the only hasle i get is outlook wont accept hotmail any more

Mike,

you have to check your sign up procedures. I temporarily removed the filters, signed up again and then I got an confirmation email from WebProNews.com.

Since the text at WPW in upper left corner is:

:: FreeNewsletter

Subscribe to the WebProWorld Newsletter FREE!

It is natural that I get a sign up letter from WebProWorld.com

Now I am not sure from which address I will get the email, so to be sure, I have saved the following domains in my safe list:

@ientry.com
@webpronews.com
@webproworld.com
@ientrynetwork.net

One should be enough. (I think you can have 500 addresses / domains in your safe list). And please do not change the from adress unless you state it at least 5 emails before you do it.

When I see where the newsletter comes from, I can reintroduce my filters.

Make it simple as simple as possible, but no simpler.

Reagarding Hotmail: Now it is also 1 Gb. Much more than I need.
