Default Serious: Signature changed without my permission.

This is serious:

My signature at WebProWorld is changed without my permission. Why have the following line been eliminated in my signature:

"Learn object oriented programming where it started: http://www.oopschool.com/".

I believe that your signature was getting out of hand, it was too many lines long, or something to that effect. Im not 100% sure as I didnt change it, but I recall seeing something about that not too long ago. Just remember there are rules regarding how big your signature can be, and your already link happy with the one you have!

Im sure it will be fine :)

Ok, may be it is too many lines long. Some time since I read the rules. I remember that you can only have three links in your signature, but can not remember that it can be too long.

But nevertheless I think I should be warned first.

WPW does not have so strict rules as I have on my own forum as far as I can remember.

For example, on the economic subforum only moderators can post. I do not want my forum to be a blogged chat, and I have much else to do.

It is OK for me that the rules at WPW gets stricter, and in my personal opinion they should. Especially regarding nearly identical posts. It takes time to read and it takes time to read "blogged chats."

This

Googles use of the Description Metatag

is an example of a monster post, I would perhaps editied to a few pages on my forum.

I think Chris have edited some posts with good results. Note that a newspaper is also edited. I know, there is a problem with new and inexperienced posters.

Note: WPW is "The Worlds's Forum for eBusiness Professionals".

And it is much better than a lot of other forums, but it can be better. We never agree on taste.

Do you mean what I have written on DigitalPunkt.no? I take the full responsibilty for what is written there.

I even deleted the Google Search box on that page, so that Google's name should not be related with the story.

It is a link.

I didn't alter your link. However, if it was more than 3 lines long or had more than 3 links, it was not in line with the rules. We don't have harsh rules against links in the forum or signatures, but you can expect the few rules we do have to be enforced.

As for warnings; No.

When I find sigs in violation of the sig rules outlined explicitly in the rules section, I'm not editing it, I'm not sending emails or pm's, I'm deleting the sig and turning it into a link to the rules page. I consider that a hint.

If you don't follow the posted rules, why should you be warned or provided notice before action is taken? If I'm speeding on the highway, the police don't have to pull me over and ask me to slow down before they give me a ticket do they?

Best thing you can do is change your sig to comply with the rules and let it go.

Rereading the rules:

You are correct, only three links and three lines in the signature.

What about these?

"Our SPAM Policy

* Please refrain from posting affiliate links and press releases in our forums.

Font Restrictions:

* Do NOT use excessively large font sizes, as it is considered to be "shouting" and will be edited back down to the default size by the moderators."

Aren't affiliate links allowed now?

Font sizes, I have seen a lot of moderators break this rule.

I respect that you change my signature without warning and delete a line. I would have done the same and clearly stated it in the rules.

P.S. I get an error when I use the advise in the sticky:

Forum Signatures: How To Set Them Up:
"[/color]http://www.somelink.com"]Anchor Text For Link

I get it correct if I eliminate the red marks.
