Just wanted to let everyone know that ctabuk was kind enough to grant me an interview for my blog, and it is now up. Please feel free to enjoy and comment.

"TIP was out posting WPW and there were some hostilities"

First, there were no hostilities. Certainly not for any outposting - which, incidentally, also did not happen.

I de-modded Dave when he essentially cloned this forum and began recruiting WPW userbase. I considered that a conflict of interest. But there was never any hostility.

Other than that, good interview.

I cannot speak for CTABUK, as I can only speak for myself and my intentions, but I've always felt that the members of WPW and TIP are some of the most INFORMED and Helpfull on the net, thus my interview request from CTABUK, and others as well.

David is, as far as I can tell, a respected member of this forum, and his thoughtfullness and willingness to help makes him a trusted source of information, at this, or any forum he feels he wants to be a member of. He has most definetly earned an honored opinion, in my estimation, and I am proud and happy that he chose to share it with me and my little itsy, bitsy blog.

Mike, I'm sure that CTABUK meant no offense, nor was drawing any line in the sand, and I'd like to humbly quash any such sentiment or perception of that right now. And if he did mean to fan the sword as a swashbuckler (which is a funny image to me, CTABUK with a musketeer outfit on), his opinion, just as yours, is more than welcome at my blog, and the fairness and democratic nature of WPW should allow for that. No conflict of interest here.

I don't know, so I can't say, but I think he's been a GREAT mod, and defender of the weak. (CTABUK MAN TO THE RESCUE) LOL.

My blog, as I said, is itsy bitsy right now, but I hope that it's the informed information that I can try to gather and provide that might keep people coming. I ask dumb questions, looking for smart answers.

I've alway enjoyed my membership here at WPW, and I hope to continue to enjoy the exchange of ideas, the need for help, the search for knowledge, and the groupthink tactics that we, as members of WPW, TIP, or any other forum get a chance to employ.

So, I'm more than happy to send you a Q and A Mike, if you feel that's fair. And I'm not interested in just forum life, I want to know, from my dummy point of view, what a more informed person will think about my questions, and give an insight into who they are.

WPW is a community made up of people, some dumb like me, and some who are educated in the ways of the web world, like you, and some others that I would love to interview. So I'm game if your game.

I think your interview was just fine. Didn't once consider it any kind of 'dummy point of view' at all I only had a couple of clarifications to make.

First and foremost that I have never harbored any hostility whatsoever towards David. He does a great job.

Second the suggestion that I was not only hostile but hostile because his forum was outposting this one is right on the edge of zany.

Fair enough. You expressed yourself fairly and gave David his due. What more can a rumblepup ask for?

And just as I would defend CTABUK, I would defend this forum and you as well. Good to know you took the thread post and my interview on the good foot.

And THANKS for the critique! Well, like my Papa always said. "A dumb question is a very deep question in disguise" I like to ask questions from the bottom line, so that's why I call them dumb. Go figure.

Not quite correct Mike - at one stage during UK daytime TIP was doing exceedingly well - we were reaching several hundreds per day - BUT - the site crashed - the server went down and it took a lot of time to get it back. Now TIP is doing OK. You have to bare in mind that TIP is predominately a UK forum and from 8am UK time through to around 6pm then TIP does indeed quite often exceed the posts here. But then overnight WPW goes like a rocket (UK Time)and whereas I look at my place for overnight postings I get one page, here I see 4 or 5 pages. But the two go hand in glove, we have indeed changed our format but we never did use the WPW database to build up the forum. Yes, some PM's were sent by both I and GHG but never on a huge scale. In fact Mikes name still appears on either page one or page 2 of members and he is always welcome to post there.

Hostilities, Mike - there was a request that Mods from here should not post in mine as well. But that was in the past, the two forums co-exist I enjoy what I do here and in TIP. Becoming a bit of a forum favourite is something that I, BrianMark, Neo1, Crankydave and hundreds of others achieve by trying to help others our usernames become our ID. Cheers David

Not quite correct?

Saying "I get more posts" and saying "I get more posts between midnight and 6am forum-local time" is not even close to the same thing.

I never said or suggested you used the WPW database to build your forum. When you first put it up however, the format was a complete clone of our sections. You didn't even change the order.

Lastly, I never once said or asked mods not to post in your forum. I only said I was not going to share mods. Mods could be mods here, or there... That's all I said.

What's not quite correct?
