Default Report post function

When a post is reported do you know what precise post(s) have been reported?

Do all Mods and Admins know when a particular report has been acted upon or if it has been acted upon?

I don't know how this function works exactly but if there were a central location that these were pulled from so that all would be aware if a particular report has been acted upon this would be a good thing.

Dave,
When a post is reported it contains a link to the specific post where the report button was used, but the rest of the thread is still there, too. It also contains the comments from the person who reported the post.

The email that is generated goes to all moderators listed for that forum section. I'm not sure if Admins get them all, or not.

Usually these reports (good or bad) will spawn a thread in the moderator forum, or at least a post in an existing thread to keep other Mods "in the loop".

There is no central tracking for them and I don't think there is any place for members to see what the resolution was. I imagine privacy is some concern here. If it's too public or detailed it might cause undue embarassment for people involved.

I guess if a member reports a post and it is important enough to them to know the resolution, they could follow up with a PM to a moderator for that forum to ask what happened. I'd wait a couple of days before asking because what action to take may still be in discussion.

And that's about all I know about it. If you want more details, post again and I'm sure Mike would be able to help.

That's pretty much the way it is. I get the thread but not the exact post (though usually it's easy enough to figure out).

Mods get notifications for forums they are mads for, admins get notifications from all forums.

I sometimes follow up with whoever reported the post just depends on whether or not they sounded like they were looking for a personal response. Nobody has specifically asked for a follow up but I will generally accommodate as much as possible in that regard if it comes up.

Also people know if a thread has been reported because if they try to report it afterwards then they will get a message telling them the thread has already been reported to admin/mods.
hope that helps.

I can only speak for the content forum, but if there is a post you are concerned about there, report it and drop me a pm if you have time/inclination - I will keep you updated if appropriate.
