Private Message in Emal
I like the new thing where the contents of the private message and sender are included in the notification mail, good stuff, lot more convenient.
Cheers!

Yeah I like that one.
There are several new things actually, once I'm done I'll post a list.
(I turned these on too)

Hey alright, smilies

Cool.
Was WPW down for a bit earlier, or was that just for me?

Probably for a few minutes. As I do things that impact multiple sections of the code there will be brief outages as I get them all uploaded. If it's more that a couple of minutes you can probably cup your hand to your ear and hear me screaming**.

You remind me of a bomb disposal expert - it's far from an exact science or so i am told.

Smilies - here? It just seems inappropriate for a business forum. I may be in the minority, but I really hate those things. Once they're introduced, intelligent conversation seems to disappear – and I love the good conversations here! I’d hate to lose that.
I really hope you'll reconsider this!

Hmm, they do sort of look out of place. Maybe if we all had the weird avatars to go with them - dumbing down?

K, fair enough - I don't have a strong opinion of smilies either way. If nobody wants 'em I'll be happy to zap 'em. No difference to me either way.
I am dealing with a couple other code issues with the admin interface today but as soon as I get what I'm working on finished up I'll zap the smilies.

I for one happen to like the the smilies. I've often found their use to convey the emotion or sentiment of the poster that can be misconstrued.
I'll be disappointed if they get zapped.

I prefered it when it just showed the raw smilies (i.e. the brackets and colons etc). But then again maybe I will miss these when they are gone.

I won't put up a fuss either way. I'll still use the codes whether or not they display.

Me neither I was only joking about the dumbing down. Plenty of respectable forums use smilies.
