Default The Sticky: DMOZ threads on top is wrong

The forums

We have initially set up the following forums:
• ……………………………………..
• Submissions - How to submit sites; finding the most appropriate category; absence of 'Add URL', and what this means. Please note that posting in this forum will not lead to site listing in itself. Remember that the ODP prides itself as a highly selective directory, and repeated, unjustified complaints about non-listing may lead to suspension or removal of your posting privileges. Also, remember that it takes time for editors to get to the submissions - so please do not complain about not being listed a few days after your submission.

If your category is run by your competition and you complain for not getting listed, we will ban you. Unjustified complaints get you banned but you cannot go in to detail with URL or editor’s name because it is against other guidelines and get you banned. I don’t think anybody complains after couple of days but can they complain after couple of years?

• Abuse Reporting - Information on how to report abuse; generic questions on types of abuse; generic reports of abuse with no mention of URLs, editor names, or specific categories; basic questions about editor removal will also be entertained here. However, specific cases of abuse will not be handled in this forum. If you have specific reports of abuse, try reporting the case to DMOZ staff, a meta-editor or, in their specific areas, a category moderator. Questions about specific cases will lead to the discussion being terminated and may lead to suspension or removal of your posting privileges. Editor removal appeals should be referred to staff at staff@dmoz.org.

We always mention that there is no proof about abuse cases and our opponents do not have any specific case, do not try to expose us, we will ban you.

Posting Guidelines

Topics - Good and Bad

In order to ensure that those who really want help can get it in as expedient a way as possible, certain rules have been drawn up. In particular, the following topics may not be discussed.

• Specific complaints about being removed as an editor.

Honest editors should not complain that their editing privilege has been revoked because they have complained about the way ODP is run.

• Complaints about specific people working or volunteering their time at ODP.

You should not expose the editors.

• Discussion of the ways in which ODP runs itself.

You should not expose ODP.
• …………………..
• …………………...
• Discussion of your "Freedom of Speech" rights. While the ODP is based on democratic principles, it does not try to imitate a democratic government. You are free to talk about anything you want... somewhere else.

We don’t believe in Free speech, censor is the only way to defend this organization.

I'm certainly not a lawyer, so it sounds close enough to me, but if the other Mods or Admins agree with your assertion that that the sticky is wrong, I'm sure it will be amended.

Moved to Suggestions and Comments.

I don't particularly care where you want to go argue about DMOZ. I don't even mind to argue about DMOZ here in WPW.

That does NOT mean however that trolling WPW forums about DMOZ (or anything else) is going to get you anything but moved, moderated, edited, quarantined or even banned.

You are welcome to discuss anything you want to discuss provided you can do so like rational, professional, people - which incidentally, is something I've never seen either side of the DMOZ debate manage in this or any other forum.

I have just about hit my cutoff with this drivel. You guys can take it upon yourselves to squash the drama or you can keep on as you are and I'll take care of it myself (give you 3 guesses how I'm gonna do that). Consider fair warning served.

Default Mike's Too Kind ... 3 Guesses?

Mike, I like your candid tact, but you're too forgiving ... 3 guesses? C'mon, let 'em gamble with fewer odds ... I think they guessed in only one attempt! Well done!
