I'd like to see a category for members to offer other members "free trials" to their services. I know it's a long shot since these types of forums are often abused but, hey, it's worth a shot!

I agree that this would be useful, on the other hand, we've all heard it before, "nothin's free", "there's no free lunch" on & on it goes. It will cost something in the long term.
In a couple of occasions I've paid for an a/c's subscription since a "free trial" option does not exist with the company I'm connected with. I wouldn't offer "free trials" if I didn't have a connection (family, co-worker, related to a business contact, etc.)to the prospect prior to the lead. I offer a free catalog and literature when a lead requests it from my web site. My company also discourages giving free product or samples. Promo items, ie. pens, caps, T-shirts, mugs and the like are used by Dealers and encouraged for this purpose. Mind you, even this may have a string attached.
