Default Possible WPW cookies issue

Strange behavior since the update. I don't have cookies issues elsewhere, but WPW cookies are no longer persistent even though I check the "keep me logged in" option.

If I attempt to post and I'm not signed in, I am not redirected to any login screen. The current page simply refreshes. If I then sign in from that particular page, (not the log out/in page) the page simply refreshes with no "you are now logged in message", but now I can in fact post.

No big deal, but maybe others are having a similar issue.

This is the first I've heard of this.

I have tested in multiple browsers (opera, mozilla, & ie) but haven't been able to reproduce this....

Anybody else seeing this?

I just realized that my shortcut to WPW forums was to the machine IP address rather than the domain name. I think it was that way because I couldn't reach the site during the update, and when it did load, the current address came up as the machine IP. I probably then saved it to Favorites again.

Interestingly, I just now added the IP address to IE's trusted sites, and 'log-in' now behaves normally. So maybe, IE rejects persistent cookies when the current page address is an IP number rather than domain name. It could consider an unresolved IP as a security risk.

I don't think there's a reason to chase this farther, but if you need me to just let me know.

Thanks Mike.
