Default Getting error message!

I am getting the following error messages when trying to read and topics/posts:

Template->make_filename(): Error - file does not exist

I can make posts (If you are reading this) - just not see them!

All seems to be working OK now. Couldn't get into site at all at one point - you may have been updating or something.

I am getting another annoying problem. The forum catagories are showing up where the list of forums should be.

Yes. Also, the most recent posts and the most popular posts have been identical the past few days.

I plan to blame Mike for this.

I'm still seeing this problem! I'm having to in and out of the index to move between the forums.

1. what browser are you using and what version? what OS?

2. have you tried deleting cookies from webproworld and/or ientry? I'm not sure how that could be involved in this case but sometimes corrupted cookies do wierd stuff.

Corrupted cookies even. No, that can't be a good thing.

I am surprised you are still having problems. I had thought we had most things back to normal (relative term).

At any rate, the forum is going to be undergoing a long overdue and fairly sweeping revamp over the course of the next couple of days. It may be early next week before it's all done, but there are lots and lots of new features and goodies just around the corner.

Still seeing it!

I am using Win XP (SP2), IE6 but also see the same in FireFox. Have cleared cache, cookies etc. - no change.

Seeing the same on other machines, using XP I believe and IE6 (maybe IE5.5).

Maybe I'll have to wait for the re-design.

Hmmm... very odd that you would be the only one to see this.

Anything unusual about your internet connection? Your ISP? The configuration of your modem or connection settings? Are you seeing an unusual number of dropped packets in your logs?

What about a mis-configured firewall? Are you using one, software or hardware? Do the logs there suggest anything unusual? Look especially for any references to MySQL "errors" in the logs that might be being interpreted by the firewall as "attacks" or "intrusions"... also, has the WPW site been blocked temporarily at times by the firewall (you mentioned sign-on problems)? If so, try identifying this site as "safe" and see if that resolves the problem.

AlexDP isn't the only one to see this phenomenon.

Okay. Then I'd suggest that everyone having the problem look at the suggestions I gave AlexDP.

Hold on here, are we seeing the same problem?

I see what Alex see's : duplicate forum lists (with identicle links) under both Categories & Forum on left...

And if Mike cant see it, then, well.. eyes needs testing.

I may have misinterpreted Alex's posts but I think everyone sees the Categories/Forums one... The unique and/or less common one is the thread starter, which I think he is saying is still a problem:

That problem was sorted within about 8 hours(ish).

At least I'm not the only one seeing the other problem (double forum categories) - thought I might be jinxed.

Ahh.. I thought you were telling us it had returned.

As for your being jinxed, it's still possible -- you could be jinxed AND seeing a problem that other people are also seeing... :o)

This site seems to have gone down hill on the technical side lately, which has made me visit less often......
Any reason?

A side bar menu down for a couple hours equals the site going downhill technically to the point of keeping people from logging in?

All of the recent technical problem have been addressed. The forum is being migrated to a new server. The forum has also been completely rebuilt with many new features and enhancements. I expect to export/import data either Monday or Tuesday of next week.

No, the errors do not affect the running of the site.
I do appologise if I sounded harsh (having personal problems - women, or woman in my case), so I am moody.
Again, I apologise... :S`

The side nav bar is still displaying the categories twice.

No, I doesn't stop people from logging-in but it might make them less reluctant to do so if there have been a number of technical problems that they have experienced.

New users may be put off and old(er) ones may visit less frequently or only visit a few of the boards and not their usually crawl of whole site.
Whilst they are not major problems it is going to have some impact on your visitors and the site's reputations.

Well, I look forward to it and wish the best of technical success!
