Beginning a couple of weeks ago, this member began posting identical messages at numerous forums, including this one.

It turns out he was using an automated script to do so -- perhaps to accumulate backlinks fro forum sigs?

I do think forum links are good as if you search for burf in google (or was it burf.com) this site comes up in the first page

I'm not impressed at all by newsguy's defense, by the way -- spam is spam, no matter how clever it is or how eloquently the spammer later apologizes for spamming. He is wasting the time and bandwidth of forums owners and members and, in my opinion, his attempt to claim it was above board and well-intentioned is absolute garbage.
