Default Begin at the Beginning?

I stumbled on this forum a few months ago by submitting (yes, now I know this is unnecessary, but, hey, it helped me find this place) my web site to different search engiens through one of those many free submission services. Ever since then, I've been coming here often, learning new things every day, and studying hard! Too hard! My head hurts after visiting, because I understand so very little.

Any chance Webproworld might be interested in starting a new section of the forum for real newbies? I could see myself creating websites for others in a few more years, IF I could actually understand the directions given in this forum well enough to do them. I've learned a lot of the jargon, but still have no idea of the work behind the terms. (ex. SEO = Search Engine Optimization, which is very important to do with our entire web site to get the best rankings possible on the different search engines, but I still don't know what it entails! No need in explaining just that one, because it is merely an example of my bigger problem on this forum.)

If Webproworld doesn't want to do this, any chance someone knows of a place that has already done this? I feel like I'm a sixth grader studying concepts written for MA's or Ph.Ds! Some times I have to reread just to make sure all the words were in English!

Hi there atwhatcost,

I can relate to what you are saying. I feel embaressed because my husband, who I call mistercreenjeans, has explained and tried to help me for a long time. I feel that I haven't learned anything at all. But I surprise myself sometimes at what I have done already.

If you desire to know this stuff, and there is a lot to know, you will learn. But, because there is so much to know it just takes time. Your understanding will increase as you do more. Patience is the key that will reveal sucess.

I have found the help around here to be great. If the answer to your post only creates more questions for you, then keep posting your questions. I have asked questions that could drive them all nutty, but they can ignore it if they want. There is usually someone one who will always try to help those of us who seem to be helpless.

There have been threads that would walk through steps for help for a given project. Those are available as they come up. Perhaps if you go to the most relevant thread for the help you need and ask for step by step help then you have a better chance of finding that help.

Someone had to tell me, so I'll pass it on to you... Go to the 'Edit Profile' and put the URL for your site into the signature so that others can easily view your site.

I wish you well, and I'll see ya 'round the forum!

*_*
