This isn't actually my idea per se, but it's used on another board I'm a moderator on and I figure it's a good feature for here:

For those wonderful people who insist on posting spam messages on boards, what if there were a hyperlink under each post that said "Report" or "Report as Spam"? When the link gets clicked on, the user gets a form that asks them why this post should be ideatified as spam. The mods or whoever needs it would get the message and act accordingly.

It's a great idea, but I don't believe phpbb has implemented this type of feature... I think there's a hack, though.

In the meantime, what you can do is look at the top of the thread to see who the mod(s) are and pm him/her
