Insider Reports?
The Marketing Insider Reports forum and Search Engine Insider Report forum have become misnomers.
Visitors with completely off-topic questions are inexplicably drawn to those "Insider" forums like Larry Page is giving advice to anyone who posts with a question.
There is another popular webmaster forum that pre-moderates some of the sections. This holds back the tide of yahoos who want to start a topic about their pet dog. This technique used on the "Insider" forums here might prevent some of the buffoonery that I've noticed lately.
From the name and the initial topics that were posted there when it first started, I expected it to be newsworthy posts. Garrett's articles, authorities posting their observations, members who find an interesting on-topic article elsewhere. Not "I just installed FrontPage 5 minutes ago, who wants to tell me how to make a web page?".
Often good questions are asked there, some simple enough that I'm able to field them. But they would get a better response elsewhere.
I guess it doesn't really hurt me one way or the other, but in the interest of organization, it might be something to consider.
OK, that's all...ohhhh look, Blue's Clues is on...
