Default Communication tool on your site: Best solution(s)?

I know there are a lot of communication tools that you can put on your site. IMwrapper (made in Ukraina?) gives an overwiew. I tried to use IMwrapper, but it did not function. Any experience with that tool?

I recently pur a Google Talk chat box (your have to be looged into your Google account for it to function) on my site (see first link in my signature), but when my son tried to chat with me, it did not function. (Fine if some members here will test it. I will be logged into my Google account if I am online here).

I found this post

Inside Windows Live Messenger:: Need someone to talk to?

<cite>
But why use email when you could use a fancy-shmancy msnim: action! Watch the magic:
<a href="msnim:chat?contact=MessengerBloggers@hotmail.com">Chat with me!</a>

But, wait, there's more! Check out these cool actions:
  • <a href="msnim:add?contact=MessengerBloggers@hotmail.com">Add me to your contact list!</a>
  • <a href="msnim:voice?contact=MessengerBloggers@hotmail.com">Voice chat with me!</a>
  • <a href="msnim:video?contact=MessengerBloggers@hotmail.com">Have a video conversation with me!</a>
All these things work with MSN Messenger 7.5; you don't need to wait around for 8.0 to use them. So go forth, add these cool links to your webpages/blogs/email signatures, and get some more people to chat with! If you have an MSN Space like this, you can combine it with the HTML Powertoy to add this to your space!
</cite>

today about using MSN Live chat. But that will not function, since I have a 100 % spam filter on my Hotmail account, and do not want to change that.

So what is the best / most professional communication tool to put on your site?

You can create similar links with Yahoo Messenger.
<a href="ymsgr:sendIM?screenname">Chat with me!</a>

Personally, I think the most professional, and most effective, method is a chat system designed specifically for site-to-visitor chatting such as Live Chat, because this does not require that the visitor have any special software beyond Flash, and the visitor does not need to create an account with a chat service to use the system. In addition, the chat operator is able to see what page the visitor is on, which can help in responding to questions.

Agree to that. I know there are more than one tool too, but I would prefr to use Google Talk. I see the point, since it requires Adobe Flash Player.

I have used Yahoo messenger earlier. But in the spirit of minimalism, now, I only use msn messenger, but since I have a 100 % filter on my hotmail account, I have to put the person on my Hotmail contact list first.

When I try Google Talk on my site (first signature link) and are logged in I get a message that I have to install Adobe Flash Palyer, but that is already installed. Can there be a program that block it, or is that a natural message when I try it myself?

The weather is beautiful here now, so I go for fishing with my family. We get fish here and smoke it on the beach. Have a nice day.

I hope someone have time to test Google Talk on my site when I return.

No other responeses. I have read a little more about Google talk and found that it can
  1. Be added to your iGoogle home page.
  2. Group Chat: You can now invite multiple people to chat with you in a group using the Google Talk Gadget. When you're chatting with a friend, just click on the "Group Chat" button to invite one or more friends to join the conversation.
